7812 leaving Aberystwyth with the 6.0pm up mail on 13th July 1962. Photographer Robert Darlaston writes: This was taken in the course of a splendid two day trip: B’ham SH – Newport – Talyllyn Jc – Moat lane Jc – Aberystwyth (overnight) – Carmarthen – Llandilo – Swansea Vic/H.St – Neath – Brecon –Hereford – Snow Hill. I can’t be certain, but I think the Moat Lane – Aberystwyth section was behind 7802 which was a favourite on the Cambrian Coast Express about that time.
